Care instructions for silk knotted pearls?
• To keep silk-knotted jewellery looking its best, protect it from moisture and chemicals. Never wear your silk-knotted pieces in the shower, pool, or ocean. Water weakens wet silk fibers, making them prone to stretching and snapping. Put your jewelry on after applying hairspray, perfumes, lotions, and makeup. Chemicals in beauty products break down silk and dull any paired gemstones. Clean dust and skin oils off by wiping jewelry with a soft, dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.
What is the difference between gold and silver plated and Gold Filled and 925 stirling silver?
• Gold and silver plating has a thin colour over a brass metal, we use findings that are treated with a tarnish resistant e-coating to protect from wear. They are not waterproof and chemicals like chlorine, oils, perfumes etc can remove the protective coating and the colour can tarnish, eventually exposing the brass or stainless steel metal underneath. Following care instructions will assist in keeping the metallic elements of your jewellery intact.
• Gold filled contains a thicker layer of gold coating and 925 stirling is 92.5% silver. These can oxidise over time and we recommend using a polish cloth to restore the original look. Unlike plated coating, which cannot be restored gold filled and 925 silver should. Take a look at gold and silver prices and you will see it is more of an investment, which is why we use it in our heirloom pieces.
What is your return policy?
• All custom orders are final sale, and you will be contacted before i finish the piece to ensure you are happy with the design before it’s shipped. Faulty objects can be returned for a repair/replacement within 14 days of receiving item.
• We want you to be completely happy with our pieces so if you have any issues at all, please contact me and I will try to find a solution for you.
Do you offer repairs?
• Yes I understand things happen, whilst I try to ensure our pieces are strong and sturdy by using high quality wire and double crimping, they are not life proof! I will be happy to repair damaged Gemstate pieces, to be best of my ability (so long as materials are still available and minimal gemstones missing) simply ship me the parts, covering shipping for return postage.
